How To Use Your MirTouch Pocket Sharps™
Step 1
INSERT PEN TIP
Insert the pen tip into the center opening of the sharps container.
Step 2
SECURE NEEDLE
Pull back the pen until it clicks, locking the needle in place.
Step 3
DETACH NEEDLE
Twist the pen counter-clockwise to detach the needle safely.
Step 4
IF STUCK
If the needle gets stuck, gently push it in with the pen — never your fingers.
Step 5
CLOSE & LOCK
Use your thumb to push the tab once to “Close.” When full, push the tab twice to “Lock” permanently. (ONCE LOCKED, IT CANNOT BE REOPENED.)

To eject pen tips, hold the container firmly in your hand, or place it on a flat surface if you have shaky hands. Insert the pen tip into the center opening. Pull back until it clicks. Rotate counter-clockwise to detach the needle. Make sure the pen needle is fully secured in the container. Close the container until you're ready to use it again. Close the container by pushing the clear tab once using your thumb.
You can also use Pocket Sharps to dispose of used diabetic lancets and test strips. Use the eject button on your lancing device to drop lancets directly into the container. Do the same with strips from your glucose meter. Push the tab once to close after each use.
When sharps reach the fill line, push the tab two clicks to permanently lock. Once locked, it cannot be reopened. Do not overfill. Dispose of the sealed container at a hazardous waste collection site near you.
